Cocktail Hour: Spicy Greyhound


It’s Friday cocktail time again.  The weather around here is atrocious, but that’s not going to stop us from leaning into fruity spring drinks.  This drink was born out of a spicy margarita my sister dreamed up.  My husband happens to be a bartending wizard, so he tailored this to my liking – {Wojtek} vodka instead of tequila, plus a sugar rim.  Perfecto.

To make –

1 shot of  vodka

a splash of cointreau

1 cup grapefruit juice (best with freshly squeezed, but Simply Grapefruit works in a pinch

Shake, and pour over

one slice of jalapeno with 1 tsp of sugar muddled in the bottom of your glass

Don’t forget the sugar rim!!

  1. I made this tonight, because it’s been that sort of week and because it sounded delishious and fun. I’m not a vodka fan but I do love grapefruit and any drink with a hint of spice. Have to say, this drink may be one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing!
