There’s nothing like warming up with a hot mug of steaming chocolate on a cold day. We’ve got plenty of packets on hand for those afternoons. But how about a homemade batch of hot chocolate? Yes, it takes just a bit more time to warm it up on the stove, but the flavor is completely worth it. Even if you only make it once this winter from scratch, give it a go.
Here is a recipe we love. Or, follow below in our simplified directions for a single serving. The salt in this recipe totally makes it. Multiply as needed for a crowd. Cheers to warming up!
- 1 c milk
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Wisk all ingredients over medium heat until hot.
